IoD Jersey Committee & Board members

The Professional Development Sub-Committee aims to support the development of senior management from every sector within Jersey through the promotion of the IoD suite of professional development courses, including the Certificate and Diploma Programme. We can offer advice and support to those eligible directors seeking Chartered Director status and provide a link with IoD Pall Mall on their future professional development plans.

The Students Sub-Committee is responsible for the development, review and monitoring of programmes and projects promoting the aims and objectives of the IoD for those in full time education. The sub-committee manages the Future Leader’s Scheme, which gives Sixth Form students the opportunity to spend one week ‘shadowing’ a director or senior manager; usually during the holiday breaks. The scheme is sponsored by KPMG.

IoD Jersey’s Events Sub-Committee looks to create informative and interesting events which showcase the very best the Island has to offer and provide members with access to insights from industry leaders. Our aim is to raise the profile of the IoD and its members through engaging speakers, innovative content and contemporary delivery.

The Digital Sub-Committee is responsible for ensuring technology and technical skills are at the forefront of the local business agenda. One of the committee’s key roles is to place digital learnings across the IoD Director Competency Framework, to instill best practice in all areas of competency. The Framework, the only framework of this kind for directors, is designed to promote and champion the highest standards of professional competence.

The Industry Sub-Committee aims to be an inclusive and energetic voice for the championing of industry in Jersey for the benefit of the whole community. The committee pools the expertise of its members and, where appropriate, provides relevant data, information and membership opinion to inform debates, policy and decisions relating to Industry.

IoD Jersey’s Sustainability Sub-Committee provides information and guidance to IoD members and their businesses on a broad range of environmental topics. The-sub committee’s aim is to improve understanding amongst business leaders, enhance sustainability and decrease negative environmental impact across the Island.

IoD Jersey’s People Leadership & Strategy Sub-Committee sets out to highlight how staff wellbeing is an increasingly relevant and necessary consideration in the modern workplace.

Wellbeing is about personal happiness in the workplace and is a hugely significant aspect of people’s work and careers.

The PR & Marketing Sub-Committee supports the organisation’s goals by promoting its mission, enhancing public image, and increasing engagement. It develops communication strategies, manages media relations, and oversees campaigns to raise awareness, attract support, and strengthen stakeholder connections.

The Governance and Policy Lead advises the IoD Jersey branch on best practice, ensures policies meet local requirements, supports transparent decision-making, and helps align governance with the branch’s strategic aims.
